I’ve put together a little recap of 2024 because it’s been such a special year in so many ways. It’s nice to pause and reflect on what I’ve achieved over the seasons—there have been so many moments of growth, creativity, and connection. From exhibitions to fairs, book projects, and awards, this year has been a whirlwind of firsts and unforgettable milestones. I’ve decided to divide this round-up into seasons because, honestly, it’s hard to keep track of everything otherwise!
Spring
Spring was an exciting start to the year with the MA Children’s Book Illustration 2024 Graduate Show in London, held from 13th February to 17th February. This show marked the culmination of a long creative journey, showcasing my project alongside so many talented peers. It was incredible to see how far we had all come and to share our work with visitors from the industry and beyond.
"When I opened your pages I felt the wind go from my chest and leaking from my eyes...Sometimes trauma that happens before words are in place can only be reflected on by seeing. Your book helps us to do that. so profoundly." - By Reader of "The Hiding Kite"

Summer
Summer was a season full of creativity and connection. My pieces were exhibited at the NAE Open at the New Art Exchange Gallery, a milestone I’m so proud of. Having my illustrations displayed in such a vibrant and diverse space felt deeply affirming, and it gave me the chance to connect with a broader audience.
Additionally, I attended my first-ever fair, the Illustrator’s Fair in London. Sharing my work face-to-face for the first time was a unique and energizing experience. The support and engagement from the creative community were truly heartwarming and left me eager to explore more events like this in the future.
Autumn
Autumn brought the LOOKOUT Fair, where I set up a booth for the first time to create live photo booth portraits. This was a special experience—combining the joy of drawing with the excitement of connecting with people in real time.
It felt full circle being in Cambridge, a place that holds deep meaning for me as the first city I called home in the UK. The fair was buzzing with creative energy, and it was a privilege to share a piece of myself with such an enthusiastic audience.
Winter
Winter capped the year off with an incredible high: winning the FAB Prize 2024 Publisher’s Prize for Art! The showcase and awards night at the Faber & Faber was unforgettable—a magical evening filled with celebration, inspiration, and the chance to meet so many talented individuals in the industry. Being recognized in this way felt surreal and deeply rewarding.

Looking Ahead
So, what’s next? I’m excited to dive deeper into my picture book projects, including the debut of Our Dance: Living Apart, Time Together, which is set for publication next summer. I also hope to continue pushing my practice in new directions and embracing all the challenges and joys that 2025 has in store.
